Clearly I am not a great blogger. Sometimes I aspire to be. Mostly I just really enjoy others blogs.
So here is the update:
1. R, who is now 8, has been home for 10 months!
2. She lives with extreme fear of abandonment, PTSD, and RAD.
3. I LOVE her. Love her. Love her. She is amazing!
4. I love reading blogs of other Moms with special needs kiddos.
Thanks for stopping by! Chances are if you have a blog....I read it!

happenings

in the past week SO many things have happened.

1. My dear little cat died. Peacefully but she will be missed by my entire neigboorhood.
2. I recieved word that I am possibly matched with a little girl who just turned 7 in June!
I am so excited and can't wait for the final meeting for everyone to choose me!
3. Finally after a month of being approved I have been assigned an adoptive caseworker. I just had to be the squeaky wheel. :(

I've read the files related to the little girl and a VERY much hoping that this is THE match! It seems like a dream come true! Here's hoping!

Homestudy Complete

I am in the final stages of being approved for adoption. I had my final homestudy meeting on April 7th! Now I am doing the waiting for approval dance. This dance can last for up to 45 days, if there are no delays. :/ In the meantime I'm ttrying to focus on the details of my life that I "forgot" about in the past few months as I have been working my adoption like a second job. Now I have to stay away from the photolistings of waiting children, every day I fall in love with a child and can't do anything! Waiting for approval is the pits. :( I am loving the new house. 1300 sq. ft is way to much for just me! But it really feels like a home, all I need is little feet running through it!

Journey on...

The PRIDE classes are almost over, paper work is filed, and the path continues on. I am waited for the wonderful couple in the house infront of me to move out, so that I can move in!

A New Journey

Obviously I am a lazy blogger. That being said this blog is turning over a new leaf. A lot of things have evolved recently.

Number 1: I am in the process of adopting a daughter from the TX foster care system.

Number 2: I have to move in the process of making room for said daughter.

Number 3: Thats a drag. But we have to do what we have to do.

I am enrolled in the PRIDE classes (parenting class) here in Houston. It's exciting, and scary.
I feel like CPS has been very clear that these children have a host of trauma and related issues and that we should be prepared for ANY kind of behaviors. So far so good.

And so this blog becomes a family/adoption blog. :) <3

Hope

Today could be the first day of the rest of my life.
